1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Quenelle:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture, obtained via Google Sign-In when you create an account.
  • Phone number — provided when you interact with Quenelle over SMS.
  • SMS message history — the text messages you exchange with Quenelle, which we use to understand your requests and learn your preferences.
  • Dining preferences — information about your dining habits, cuisine preferences, and restaurant tastes that we infer from your conversations.
  • Restaurant watch lists — the restaurants you ask us to monitor, along with your desired date, party size, and time preferences.
  • Reservation and activity history — a record of availability alerts sent, reservations booked, and other interactions with the service.
  • Resy credentials — only if you choose to enable the Auto-Book feature, you may voluntarily provide your Resy account credentials so we can book reservations on your behalf. See Section 6 for details.
  • Payment and subscription information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

2. Google Calendar Data

If you choose to connect Google Calendar during onboarding, Quenelle requests read-only access (the calendar.events.readonly scope) to your Google Calendar. This access is used exclusively to import your past restaurant reservations so we can personalize recommendations to your taste.

Specifically:

  • We query the Google Calendar API with the eventTypes=fromGmail parameter, which limits results to events Google Calendar automatically created from confirmation emails sent by services like Resy, OpenTable, and SevenRooms. Events of any other type — meetings, personal events, all-day events, and anything not auto-created from Gmail — are never returned to Quenelle and are never read.
  • From the events returned, we further filter to those matching restaurant reservation patterns in the event title ("Reservation at [Restaurant]", "Lunch at [Restaurant]", "Dinner at [Restaurant]").
  • From matching events, we extract and store only the restaurant name, location, and reservation date. No other fields are stored.
  • We do not read or store event descriptions, attendees, guest lists, or any other calendar metadata beyond what is listed above.
  • We never write to, modify, or delete any event on your calendar.
  • We do not share Google user data with any third party.
  • We do not use Google user data to train, fine-tune, or improve AI or machine learning models.
  • We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time by contacting us or through your account settings. Disconnecting revokes Quenelle's access and deletes the restaurant data imported from your calendar from our systems.

Quenelle's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to provide and improve the Quenelle service, including:

  • Authenticating your identity and managing your account.
  • Monitoring restaurant availability and sending you SMS alerts when openings appear.
  • Learning your dining preferences over time to personalize recommendations.
  • Booking reservations on your behalf when you enable Auto-Book.
  • Processing subscription payments.
  • Importing past restaurant reservations from your Google Calendar, if you connect it, to personalize recommendations (see Section 2 for details).
  • Improving the accuracy and quality of the service.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only as necessary to operate the service:

  • Stripe — for payment processing and subscription management.
  • Resy — your Resy credentials and booking details are transmitted to Resy solely to complete reservations on your behalf when Auto-Book is enabled. We do not share these credentials for any other purpose.
  • Service providers — we may use third-party infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting and database services) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Google user data — calendar data accessed under the calendar.events.readonly scope is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. See Section 2 for details.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. Resy credentials, if provided, are stored with encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Resy Credentials and Auto-Book

If you enable the Auto-Book feature, you may provide your Resy account credentials to allow Quenelle to book reservations on your behalf. These credentials are stored securely and used solely for that purpose. You may disable Auto-Book and request deletion of your stored credentials at any time by contacting us.

We do not use your Resy credentials for any purpose other than completing bookings you have explicitly requested. We do not share them with any third party other than Resy itself, and only as required to complete the booking.

7. SMS Communications

Quenelle communicates with you primarily via SMS. By using the service, you consent to receive text messages from Quenelle, including availability alerts, reservation confirmations, and service updates. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account, remove stored Resy credentials, or stop Auto-Book at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the service or by SMS.

10. Contact
